Birmingham homicide victim identified

BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) - Birmingham police are investigating a homicide that may have stemmed from a possible robbery.

The victim has been identified as 28-year-old Corey Walker.

The deadly shooting happened around 12:30 a.m. on Thursday in the 500 block of 16th Way SW.

Officers from the West Precinct found Walker inside a car suffering from gunshot wounds.

Police say witnesses told them several gunshots were heard in the area before the car wrecked. Witnesses also saw two black males standing next to the car before both ran from the scene.
