LIPSCOMB, AL (WBRC) - Police are investigating a homicide after a body was found at a mobile home park.

The body of a Hispanic male was found at Woodward Estates mobile home park Monday morning around 3 a.m. in Lipscomb. The victim was shot to death.

The coroner identified the man as Jose Alfredo Leon, 41.

Dozens gathered at Woodward Estates on Monday at 6 p.m. for a vigil.

Many family and friends listened, their eyes filled with tears, as a speaker honored Leon's life and read passages from the Bible.

The vigil was centered around the spot where Leon was killed.

Candles, flowers and a picture of Leon were placed around a blood stained spot on the ground where Leon's body laid after he was shot.

Family says Leon leaves behind a wife and three children.

The Jefferson County Sheriff's office is handling the investigation.
