Tuscaloosa County youth baseball team headed to Dixie Youth World Series

TUSCALOOSA COUNTY, AL (WBRC) - A local baseball team is getting ready to compete in the the Dixie Youth World Series.

Emotions are as high as the temperature with Taylorville National heading to the Dixie Youth World Series.

Tim Dreyfus is coaching these 7 to 8-year-old players who are extremely confident.

"It's great. You know, we have been through some tough practices as a team. We all worked for it. And, this is our year because we are a team," said second baseman Jackson Drake.

"Well, we worked hard for this opportunity and I hope we win," third baseman Jay Brown said.

It's been six years since Taylorville has competed in the World Series and these players are ready to represent the state.

"We work hard in practices in overall we are really the best team," shortstop Jackson Green said.

And in honor of representing the state Taylorville has changed out their breakout a little bit to, "One, two, three, Bama!"
