BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) - Block parties aren't just held in neighborhoods these days.

St. Vincent's One Nineteen held their 10th annual Block Party and Health Festival event Saturday.

Kids and their parents got in on all the action. From rock climbing to soccer and inflatables, the fair offered attention grabbers for the kids.

And for the adults, it gave them a chance to talk with local doctors and offered free health screenings.

"It's bringing the community together and also just spreading the word about people who maybe don't take the time to make an appointment to get a free health care screening. Can come out and at least get some sort of the picture here," Meredith Fitzpatrick said.

Attendees also had the chance to be a part of St. Vincent's One Nineteen Expansion project by signing a beam that will be placed in the completed building.
