Man charged with attempted murder after allegedly chasing, shooting at girlfriend's co-worker

CULLMAN COUNTY, AL (WBRC) - A shooting at the Dodge City Petro Lube led to a Hanceville man being charged with attempted murder.
Michael Dakota Libauskas, 29, was arrested after allegedly chasing and shooting at his girlfriend's co-worker.
Sheriff Matt Gentry says the incident occurred at 6 p.m. Sunday, June 7 and stemmed from a domestic incident between Libauskas and his girlfriend earlier in the day.
Libauskas' girlfriend, who works at Petro Lube on Highway 69, told a co-worker about the incident and the co-worker contacted Libauskas.
Police say Libauskas later showed up to confront the co-worker and began chasing him and firing his weapon. It started inside the gas station and continued outside.
No one was injured in the gunfire. Deputies quickly responded to the scene and arrested Libauskas, who is also being charged with third degree domestic violence.
"I would like to thank the deputies for their quick response to this situation which kept it from being much worse," Gentry said.
Libauskas is being held without bond in the Cullman County Jail.
