HUEYTOWN, AL (WBRC) - The City of Hueytown has honored two police officers and a dispatcher for outstanding service to the city.
Officer Lindsay Bumpers, with the Hueytown Police Department, was awarded the "Life Saving Medal." Bumpers performed CPR on a woman who overdosed on Heroin.
“She arrived on scene and her actions resulted in this woman surviving. The woman would have passed if she hadn't been there, so anytime you save a life it's something that should be recognized,” said Hueytown Police Chief Chuck Hagler.
Dispatcher Adam Arnold received the "Dispatcher of the Year" award. And Officer Gary McAdory received the "Officer of the Year" award.
"I didn't really expect it but I'm very proud of it and proud of the city and everything, so it's amazing," said McAdory.
“It's always important to award people for a job well done," Chief Hagler said.
