Jeffco Sheriff's deputies arrest carjacking suspect after standoff

JEFFERSON COUNTY, AL (WBRC) -  Jefferson County Sheriff's deputies say the standoff at Warrior-Jasper Road and Tate Mill Road has ended.

The incident started around 7:30pm Thursday when the suspect and her roommate wrecked a vehicle. After the wrecker arrived, the suspect took a wrecker service truck at gunpoint.

She then drove her roommate to her roommate's parents' home.

There, the suspect fired a gunshot at no one's direction, sending the occupants fleeing for safety.

The SWAT team arrived shortly afterwards, followed by a negotiator.

The suspect surrendered without incident shortly before 10pm.

The Sheriff's Department has identified the suspect. She's 36-year-old Stacy Teets.

No charges have been announced.
