The Mortimer Jordan High School Marching Band is known as the Blue Machine. The 125-member band is under the direction of Craig Cagle and working its way through all the adversity of 2020 to put on a show that is special to the fans in the stands.
The Oak Mountain High School Spirit of the Cahaba Marching Band is made up of 205 members, but its foundation rides the experience of 43 seniors. Kevin Ownby directs the Spirit of the Cahaba performs this fall on the gridiron during halftime of games with a theme called, "New York State of Mind."

Karmyn Sparks is a three sport standout student at Pleasant Valley High School. She does a lot of work on and off the field and she is blossoming nicely in the community after being adopted about five years ago. She was also a big winner at the Bryant-Jordan Awards Banquet.
“It really hurts knowing that I’m not going to be able to finish my senior season out on the track. I’ve been running for the past five years and have won several state titles, it breaks my heart,” said Hoover sprinter Jonathan Martin.
