Clare Huddleston

Clare Huddleston anchors WBRC's 11 a.m. newscast and serves as executive producer of WBRC’s livestream platforms, producing unique content for the station’s streaming channels. She also produces and anchors a livestream-only newscast that airs each weekday.

Clare joined the WBRC News team in October 2011. For 10 years she served as an anchor and reporter for Good Day Alabama, covering everything from breaking news to light-hearted and human-interest stories. Some of the biggest stories she's covered while at WBRC include "Snowmageddon," the aftermath of the April 2011 tornados and the Covid pandemic.

Before joining WBRC, Clare was an anchor, reporter and producer for WVUA-TV in Tuscaloosa. She began her television career while a student at the University of Alabama. After graduation, she accepted a full-time position with WVUA-TV. Clare loved serving the West Alabama community, but was happy to return "home" to Birmingham when the right opportunity came along at WBRC.

In her free time, Clare enjoys volunteering, traveling and running. Her biggest personal accomplishment to date is running a marathon a month for a full year (August 2020-August 2021).

Clare serves on the Board of Directors for the Hope for Autumn Foundation, which raises awareness and money for families who have children battling cancer. Clare is also a national volunteer with her sorority, Alpha Chi Omega.

Clare is married to John, who is a former WBRC News reporter. She's also the mother of Anna Clare, Libby, and Drew.
