American Airlines passenger accused of kicking attendant restrained with zip ties, duct tape
LAS VEGAS (KVVU/Gray News) — A Las Vegas woman was reportedly zip-tied and duct-taped while assaulting a flight attendant on an American Airlines flight.
According to the United States Department of Justice, Ketty Dilone was a passenger aboard an American Airlines flight from Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, to Las Vegas.
Officials said Dilone began walking down the aisle and yelling, threatening multiple flight attendants.
The DOJ said the flight crew had to restrain her with zip ties and duct tape when she started to kick one of the attendants, causing the employee to fall.
The flight ultimately landed at Harry Reid International Airport, and officers with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department took Dilone into custody.
Authorities said she made her initial court appearance on Thursday for one count of interference with a flight crew and one count of assault.
A preliminary hearing is also scheduled for Oct. 1. Officials said the maximum sentence Dilone is facing is 20 years in prison.
