UPDATE: Man shot, killed in north Birmingham ID’d
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) - Birmingham Police are investigating a homicide in north Birmingham Wednesday afternoon.
Just before 2 p.m., East Precinct officers responded to a home in the 900 block of 52nd Way North on report of person shot.
The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office has identified the victim as Anthony James Embry. He was 29.
When officers arrived on scene, they found Embry suffering from a gunshot wound.
Birmingham Fire & Rescue Service arrived and pronounced him dead.
According to Officer Truman Fitzgerald, the shooting occurred in a heavily populated residential neighborhood.
Details surrounding the homicide are limited at this time.
No arrests have been made.
