Death investigation at Cordova Avenue, Pratt Highway

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) - The Birmingham Police Department is investigating the death of a man on Pratt Highway and Cordova Avenue.
According to BPD, officers received a report of an accident just before 5:30 p.m. Officers arrived to the scene and found an adult male sitting in a car suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The case was originally classified as a murder but has since been declared an unclassified death after the medical examiner was unable to find evidence of foul play. Officers believe the victim was the only person in the car and and the vehicle had no significant impact damage.
