Birmingham Police investigating woman shot

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) - Birmingham Police are investigating a homicide at 32nd Street SW and Beulah Avenue.

According to Public Information Officer Sgt. Rodarius Mauldin, around 8:30 a.m. on May 7, BPD responded to a call of shots fired in the area. When officers arrived to the location, they found a woman shot in a car that had struck a stop sign.

The woman was pronounced dead on scene. She as been identified as 45-year-old Teresa Denise Coleman.

Residents in the area did report hearing commotion before the gunshots were heard. Sgt. Mauldin also reported no one is in custody and there are no suspects at this time.
