BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - A Baton Rouge police officer who just retired from force has died of COVID-19, his family says.
Lt. Michael Godawa had been out on sick leave and passed away this week, just one day after his official retirement date.
Funeral arrangements are pending.
