5 shot, 1 man killed in Fairfield shooting

FAIRFIELD, Ala. (WBRC) - The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after they say five people were shot in Fairfield Tuesday evening. One of those victims, a 24-year-old man, died at the scene.

The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office says DeAngelo Dwayne Poole of Fairfield was shot and killed.

Deputies were called to the Home E. Hayes Soccer Complex in the 200 block of Glen Crest Drive around 7:45 p.m. Tuesday to investigate a shooting. After arriving at the location, they found five men suffering gunshot wounds. Poole died at the scene.
