Arrest made after woman hit and killed in Bessemer Wednesday morning

BESSEMER, Ala. (WBRC) - Bessemer police made an arrest Thursday after a woman was hit by a car and killed Wednesday morning.

The Jefferson County Coroner identified the victim as 35-year-old Holly Jo Dunn. The suspect has not been identified.

Police say Dunn was walking in the 1100 block of 9th Avenue SW around 3:58 a.m. when she was hit by a car.

Dunn died on the scene and the driver of the vehicle was taken to UAB West.

The family has set up a GoFundMe account to help raise money to cover Dunn’s funeral expenses and to help with her children.
