TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WBRC) - Inmates at the Tuscaloosa County Jail now have a new way to communicate with family and friends. Tuscaloosa County Sheriff Ron Abernathy recognized a need for better communication between inmates and their loved ones during this COVID-19 pandemic, so he came up with a new jail email system.
The email system is available on the Sheriff’s Office website and you can find a new button on the booking information page of each inmate.
Clicking the “Email Inmate” button will get the user to acknowledge the jail communication rules and register an account with a corresponding email address.
Inmates will be able to receive a printed copy of the email with an approved photograph attachment in the same way postage mail is delivered. There is no charge to use the email system.
