UPDATE: Man killed in Bessemer train wreck identified
BESSEMER, Ala. (WBRC) - A man killed in a Bessemer train wreck has been identified.
The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office says Ronald Paul Whitely was the driver of a flatbed wrecker traveling south in the 2300 block of Carolina Avenue in Bessemer.
Whitely’s vehicle was stopped on the railroad tracks Thursday afternoon when it was hit by the train. He was 77.
Bessemer police are investigating.
