BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) - Birmingham Police said they made an arrest in the murder of a 44-year-old man killed on April 1.
29-year-old Jasmine Drake faces a capital murder charge.
Birmingham Police responded to a report of a person shot on Thursday, April 1 around 4:30 a.m. in the 1500 block of Vanderbilt Road.
Police arrived on scene to an unresponsive man in the floor. Birmingham Fire and Rescue performed life-saving measures, but the victim died.
Authorities identified the victim as 44-year-old Louis Bryant.
Police say their investigation indicates that a domestic-related altercation occurred prior to Bryant being shot.
Additional information obtained during the investigation indicates the incident occurred in the presence of children under the age of 14 who were related to Bryan.
Drake will be held in the custody of the Jefferson County Jail with no bond.
