JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ala. (WBRC) - An early-morning fire in Jefferson County destroyed an abandoned church on Monday.

Crews say the call came in around 3 a.m. for a structure fire in Docena. The Minor Fire Department responded and Minor and Maytown were called for backup, though we’re told neither responded. Forestdale Fire did assist.

Officials with Minor FD did not provide the name of the church but said it was not in use.
