JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ala. (WBRC) - UPDATE: Jefferson County Unified Command will hold a news conference on Monday, January 11, 2021 to provide more information about the vaccination roll-out in Jefferson County and provide current COVID-19 response information.
Jefferson County EMA officer Chris Tate said the Unified Command call center has received 3,391 calls and 13,079 online form submissions.

Once submitted, we will review your information and make a determination on which phase of the vaccine distribution is most appropriate for your situation.

The Jefferson County Department of Health (JCDH) and the Jefferson County Emergency Management Agency (JCEMA), through the Jefferson County Unified Command (JCUC), have established a new call center to provide information to the public regarding COVID-19 vaccines. They will also assist with coordinating vaccination efforts for critical populations in Jefferson County.
Healthcare entities and pharmacies that receive allotments of vaccine will vaccinate people in particular phases, according to the Alabama COVID‐19 Vaccination Allocation Plan (revised 12/23/20). This Allocation Plan was developed by the Alabama Department of Public Health (ADPH) using guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Advisory Committee of Immunization Practices (ACIP).
Currently there is limited supply of vaccine and doses are continuing to be given to frontline healthcare workers, emergency medical service (EMS) providers, and residents of long term care facilities in Alabama (all within Phase 1a). JCDH will inform the public when it is time to move to the next phase after evaluating whether enough people have been offered the vaccine in the current phase.
