CENTER POINT, Ala. (WBRC) - UPDATE: The Pastor of Greater Grace Missionary Baptist Church, a church that burned on Friday. Nov. 20, found a way to turn a negative situation into a positive one.

Pastor Lawrence Jackson plans to serve a Thanksgiving meal to 150 people. “I am so thankful to still be in a position to bless people considering all that has happened,” Jackson said.

The dinner is Tuesday at 3pm at Zaties restaurant located at 1805 Center Point Parkway. The first 150 people will be served free of charge.

Fire destroyed Greater Grace Church. Many of the donations that church members collect throughout the year to give out to community members, shelters and partner organizations were inside.
