GADSDEN, Ala. (WBRC) - Etowah County Sheriff’s investigators say a cyber tip led them to a couple now charged in a child pornography investigation.
Investigator Brandi Fuller with the Etowah County Sheriff’s office received a cyber tip on November 4 from the ICAC (Internet Crimes Against Children) on 29-year-old Christopher Sistrunk.
Fuller said after conducting an investigation of Sistrunk, she was able to obtain a search warrant of his house.
With the help of other Etowah County Investigators and Rainbow City Police they were able to execute the search warrant.
Investigators said Sistrunk and his wife, 24-year-old Rebecca Carson, were found in possession of child pornography which consisted of pictures and videos.
Investigators said Sistrunk was already a registered sex offender and on probation. He was in possession of multiple cell phones and lap tops. All devices have not been checked at this time.
Sistrunk and Carson were taken into custody and booked into the Etowah County Detention Center.
Sistrunk has been charged with 6 counts of Possession of Child Pornography and 1 count of Dissemination of Obscene Material and is being held on a $100,000 cash bond .
Carson has been charged with 2 counts of Possession of Child Pornography and held on a $25,000 cash bond.
Inv. Fuller states that the investigation is still ongoing and more charges are expected at a later time.
