BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) - Birmingham police are investigating a homicide Tuesday evening.

South precinct officers were called to the 100 block of Center Street South around 5:30 p.m. When they arrived, they found two people on the ground suffering gunshot wounds.

The male victim, identified as 25-year-old Mondrelle Kellogg, was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to police, the female victim was Kellogg’s wife. She was found on the ground suffering a gunshot wound. She was taken to an area hospital for treatment of what police say are non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspects fled the scene on foot prior to officer’s arrival.

No suspects are in custody. If you have any information about what happened in the incident, you’re asked to call Crime Stoppers at 205-254-7777.
