16-year-old charged with attempted murder in Tuscaloosa shooting

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WBRC) - A 16-year-old boy has been arrested in a shooting in Tuscaloosa on October 7.

A man suffered serious injuries when he was shot in the 3200 block of 44th Place East around 10 p.m.

Investigators with the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit said shots were fired, and the victim was shot twice.

Additionally a residence and a vehicle were also struck.

David Waller III, age 16, was arrested Tuesday afternoon. Waller was charged with the following: Attempted Murder, Discharging a Firearm into an Occupied Dwelling, Discharging a Firearm into a Unoccupied Vehicle, and Prohibited Person in Possession of a Firearm.

The combined bond is $80,000.

Under Alabama law, due to the offense having elements of causing a serious physical injury and the use of a deadly weapon, he is being charged as an adult.
