Absolutely Alabama: Jubilee Decor

COVINGTON COUNTY, Ala. (WBRC) - The holiday season is just around the corner, and while our celebrations may be a little different this year, there’s a place in rural Covington County where the celebration never ends.

“Most people think when they drive by, they think we’re chicken farmers. I get that a lot. I didn’t know you did that. I thought those were just chicken barns,” says Justin Sightler owner of Jubilee Decor located in rural Covington county just outside Andalusia.

At Jubilee Decor, every day looks like a holiday, and their contribution to Christmas is Absolutely Alabama.

“You probably remember when you were a kid, your parents carried you around to look at Christmas lights and you remember what that feeling was like. You always looked forward to that. It was something exciting. I remember that as a kid growing up and that’s what I tell people. I create that feeling every day.”

“We used to just make the structural bows that you see on lamp posts and things like that and we started making giant fiberglass ornaments. Now we sell anything anyone would need for a Christmas program, whether it’s a bow and a wreath or garland to a 50-foot Christmas tree. We’ve built product for Disney before, Universal Studios, MGM. We’ve built stuff for NBC. More locally, we work with Wind Creek Casino. We’re building a bald eagle right now that’s like ten or twelve-foot-wide wingspan that’s going to be flying over people at a light show somewhere up in Virginia.”
