Deputies: Man charged with shooting suspect in his brother’s murder case at a Tuscaloosa Co. food mart

TUSCALOOSA CO., Ala. (WBRC) - A man was arrested today for attempted murder, after officials say he shot the man charged in his brother’s killing multiple times at Allen’s Food Mart off Hwy 11 earlier this week.

The suspect has been identified as 50-year-old Johnny McAlpine.

The Woodstock Police Department and the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff’s Office responded to the shooting Wednesday around 12:00 p.m.

23-year-old Omar Fowler was shot multiple times and transported to the hospital for treatment.

Upon investigation officers noted that Omar Fowler had been charged with the murder of Johnny McAlpine’s brother, Henry McAlpine, on June 23 and was out on bond.
