Classes at Mt. Laurel Elementary canceled Friday due to power outage

MT. LAUREL, Ala. (WBRC) - Classes at Mt. Laurel Elementary School are canceled for August 14.

Officials say the school is without power after a traffic accident involving a power pole resulted in the loss of power in the Mt. Laurel community.

There is not an anticipated time of restoration at this time.

According to a Birmingham Police Officer, an investigation is underway after a shooting in the 2600 block of 29th St. in Ensley Saturday night.

Gamedays are back for SEC fans, but it’s not going to be normal in the stadium or from home.
