24-year-old woman identified as victim in Birmingham’s Southside homicide

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) - The Birmingham Police Department is investigating a homicide Tuesday evening.

Officers from the south precinct were called to Underwood Park in the 1100 block of 26th Street South just after 7 p.m. to investigate a shooting.

When they arrived at the scene, they found a female in the passenger seat of a vehicle suffering a gunshot wound. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim has been identified as Raven Lynette Swain.

Detectives are currently investigating and need more information to determine what happened.
