BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) - Birmingham Police have arrested a man in connection to the shooting death of a 23-year-old man earlier this month.
29-year-old Ronald LaVance Steen has been charged with Capitol Murder. Steen is currently being held without bond at the Shelby County Jail after he was arrested for trafficking a controlled substance.
23-year-old Antonio Jermell Jackson was killed the evening of July 15th at the South Town Community on Ronald LaVance Steen. Investigators arrived to find Jackson lying on the floor near the front of the home suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to UAB where he later died.
Investigators say a preliminary investigation indicates the suspect shot the victim and the victim collapsed near the resident’s front door before the suspect fled.
