BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) - Birmingham police officers are investigating after a child was shot Tuesday afternoon while traveling down a Birmingham street in a vehicle.
Around 4:11 p.m., police were called to Children's of Alabama after a 5-year-old child suffering a life-threatening gunshot wound was brought to the hospital.
Police investigating say the child was an occupant of a vehicle traveling down Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive when someone fired shots at that vehicle hitting the child.
No suspects are in custody, nor has any motive been identified.
