2nd arrest made after man charged in shooting death of his brother at Tuscaloosa gas station

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WBRC) - Authorities in Tuscaloosa County have made a second arrest after a man was charged in the shooting death of his brother on June 6.

Last week, Joshua Marquise Pearson was charged with reckless murder. On June 11, 23-year-old Nicolas Anderson was taken into custody for a warrant for prohibited persons in possession of a firearm.

Joshua Pearson’s brother, Laquavius Leon Pearson, was shot and killed at the Marathon gas station at the corner of James I Harrison and Greensboro Avenue on June 6.

Police say after examination of the crime scene, interviews with numerous witnesses, and analysis of video surveillance, it was determined that Joshua Marquise Pearson, discharged his firearm recklessly and hit his brother causing his death.

During the investigation authorities found another person, Anderson, randomly firing a weapon. He was previously convicted of first-degree robbery and was on probation at the time of the shooting. Due to the new offense, his release on the robbery charge was revoked.
