HOOVER, Ala. (WBRC) - Hoover police say 25 protesters were arrested on Saturday for various offenses while protesting on Montgomery Highway near Hoover City Hall.
One police officer sustained minor injuries. There were no reports of property damage as a result of the protest.
Lt. Keith Czeskleba says most of those arrested were charged with disorderly conduct, stemming from blocking traffic on Montgomery Highway. Additionally, some protesters were charged with criminal trespassing, resisting arrest and one person was charged with carrying a firearm during a demonstration.
There was damage to two buildings during the protests, police say. Jared Jewelry on Galleria Circle and Von Maur at the Riverchase Galleria each had damage reported to their windows.
Hoover police say there were not any injuries to protesters or officers.
