MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WTVY) - The manhunt is over for Marcus Roberson, who police say kidnapped Tanesha McLeod from a home in Dothan.

Lt. Doug Magill said an investigation revealed that Roberson kicked in the door of a home on Woods Drive. Once inside, he shot a man police have not yet publicly identified. The victim suffered critical injuries.

Magill believes Roberson then kidnapped Tanesha McLeod, who was inside that home where the shooting happened.

McLeod is said to have freed herself when they stopped for gas. The suspect fled as well, and a search began near 231 and Taylor Road before he was found and taken into custody Saturday night.

McLeod was found in Montgomery. Police say she suffered only minor injuries.

Montgomery and Troy Police, along with the US Marshals, assisted in the case.
