Nutritionist: Some will gain 10 pounds during holidays, how you can avoid it

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) - A nutritionists says that some people will gain about ten pounds during the holiday season. So, If you don’t want a waist line the size of Santa’s, there are some things you can do.

“When you consider that you are going to have to do without 500-700 calories a week just to loose one to two pounds a week, it might make you stop and think twice about it,” says Shelby Baptist Clinical Nutritionist Miriam Pittman.

She suggests sticking to your daily activity routine.

Pittman also says it’s important to not overeat at holiday parties and be careful not to drink your calories either. Try to stick with water.

Also, try to substitute ingredients in your holiday dishes, for fat free or healthier ingredients.

Most people will not know the difference.
