BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) - Police are investigating a fatal double shooting in Birmingham involving Parker High School Students.
The shooting happened on 6th Street SW and St. Charles Avenue SW at approximately 3 a.m.
Authorities say a 16-year-old was found dead at the scene. He has been identified as James Looney, a 10th grader. A 15-year-old female was taken to Children’s of Alabama with life-threatening injuries. She is a freshman.
The school had counselors on hand Monday for students and staff and will tomorrow.
"This is a very unfortunate and tragic situation. My prayers and thoughts are not only with the family, but also the faculty and staff at A.H. Parker High School. Just senseless, said Principal Darrell Hudson.
