WEST POINT, Ala. (WBRC) - Veterans and their families in Cullman County received a free Thanksgiving meal with all the fixins on Monday.

The event was put on by “Saving Forgotten Warriors” and hosted by Brandin’ Iron Steakhouse in West Point.

The group expected to serve around one thousand meals today. In addition, volunteers from the Cullman County Sheriff’s Office delivered meals to homebound veterans.

“This is probably one of my favorite fundraisers that we do every year, and just the support that we have and see them come out and spend the day. Because a lot of them don’t get to see other veterans a lot or be around other people who are like minded," says general manager Josh Speakman. "So they really get together, tell the stories and talking, and it’s just a good event.”
