Search for missing 97-year-old man suspended in Tuscaloosa

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WBRC) - Authorities in Tuscaloosa suspended their search Thursday afternoon for a missing 97-year-old man in Hurricane Creek Park.

Tuscaloosa Fire Rescue Spokesperson Holly Whigham said firefighters have exhausted all areas where Cecil McAllister was known to walk around Highway 216 near Tuscaloosa’s Five Points area.

McAllister is described as being 5-foot-4, 130 pounds. He was last seen Tuesday wearing a long-sleeved plaid shirt, jeans, and a baseball cap.

Police say he often goes on long walks near his residence.

Whigham said Tuscaloosa Police will continue to investigate. If new leads are discovered, the search will resume.
