BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) - Mayor Randall Woodfin has chosen the next fire chief and deputy chief for the Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service.
Cory Moon has been named fire chief. Julius Purifie was also named the new deputy chief. Both were promoted from current positions within BFRS.
Both Moon and Purifie will shadow the current Interim Fire Chief and Interim Deputy Chief until February when they will assume their new roles.
