Galleria shooting protesters choose jury trial

Attorney spokesman for Hoover protesters speaks after pre-trial hearing

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) - Seven people arrested in the city of Hoover while protesting after the shooting of EJ Bradford at the Riverchase Galleria Thanksgiving night, November 22, 2018, appeared in a Jefferson County courtroom on Wednesday.

During a press conference Wednesday afternoon, attorney Richard Rice discussed what happened in the courtroom.

According to Rice, all seven of the protesters chose a jury trial in Jefferson County Circuit Court. The protesters were all arrested in Hoover late last year on charges related to the protests.

Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall ruled in February that the Hoover police officer who shot and killed EJ Bradford was justified in the Thanksgiving night shooting.
