20-year-old man identified as homicide victim in parking deck of Riverchase Galleria

HOOVER, Ala. (WBRC) - Authorities in Hoover are investigating a homicide that happened Wednesday afternoon in a parking deck located at the Riverchase Galleria.

Hoover police have identified 20-year-old Zachariah Taylor Music, of Hoover.

Around 1:29 p.m. Wednesday, Hoover Police and Fire crews were called to the north parking deck located at the mall in response to a shooting.

When they arrived at the scene, they found a man sitting in a vehicle suffering at least one gunshot wound.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by Hoover Fire medics around 1:39 p.m.

Detectives are working to determine the circumstances that led to the shooting, but they say initial information shows the victim was “specifically targeted.”

No suspects are in custody, nor have they been identified. The identity of the victim will be released by authorities once his family has been notified.
