BIBB COUNTY, Ala. (WBRC) - Bibb County officials believe more businesses could move into the county’s newest industrial park thanks to a new upgrade that’s in the works.
Those upgrades are coming to the Scott Davis Industrial Park thanks to nearly a million dollars in grants that will pay for a new water tower there.
“They are calling us their second campus now, so there’s plenty of potential for us to grow,” according to Bibb County Administrator Derek Reeves.
He said Mercedes Benz officials have been happy since building several new plants at the Davis Industrial Park in Woodstock.
He believes the addition of a new water tank there could draw more businesses to the park.
The governor’s office announced the Bibb County Commission will get $900,000 in grant money to build a 300,000 gallon water tank there that will serve businesses in the park and improve water capacity in the nearby Green Pond community.
The park is near Jefferson and Tuscaloosa counties.
That’s a fact that could make it an ideal location for new industries interested in coming to west Alabama.
“We’re right in the middle of a lot of things going on so we’re open for business,” Reeves continued.
Reeves said it’s unclear when the Bibb County Commission will get the money.
But he believes building the water tower in the Davis Industrial Park will happen soon after that.
