JeffCo deputy charged with DUI after rollover crash on I-20

BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) - A Jefferson County deputy involved in a rollover crash on I-20 May 9 has been charged with DUI, according to Captain David Agee with Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department.

Deputy Dakota Madsen, 25, was in a patrol car at the time of the crash, but he was off duty.

Madsen was on personal leave at the time of the crash. He has been with the sheriff’s department since 2016.

ALEA is handling the investigation.
