Damage reports around Alabama as severe thunderstorms push through

BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) - Severe storms caused damaged throughout several Alabama counties Thursday afternoon as storms pushed through the state.

In Jefferson County, there were power outages in Hoover and a fallen tree across Empire Lane. A tree fell across power lines across the street from Corner High School causing delayed dismissal as crews worked to clear the road and restore power.

Etowah County EMA reported several trees and power lines down around Mountainboro Road, Fairview Cove Road, Duck Springs Road near the intersection, Briton Gap Road and in New Union.

In Dora, damage to a trailer home included broken windows, a trailer skirt and deck blown away.

There were also some reports of trees down in Cullman County. A barn and chicken houses were damaged at Jones Chapel and in the Joppa Community.

Law Enforcement in Cherokee County report a building blown down at the intersection of Gadsden Highway and Old Highway 411 in Centre.
