BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) - Calm and tranquil weather can be expected for the rest of tonight, with a clearing sky and lows in the upper 50s to low 60s. You can expect a very pleasant start to our Monday but add a few extra bottles of water to the out the door checklist. Temperatures will be rising into the mid to upper 80s during the afternoon. You can expect even hotter conditions for Tuesday, with highs near 90 degrees in some locations.
THE NEXT CHANCE OF RAIN: An upper-level ridge will keep our area dry for the start of the week but we could see a few isolated showers on Wednesday as this ridge starts to weaken. I still think most locations will remain dry through Wednesday. The chance for scattered showers and thunderstorms will increase on Thursday - and especially Thursday night.
Another cold front will enter the picture by Friday but the big question is will the front be strong enough to push through our area. We’re getting into that time of the year where the cold fronts start to weaken as they reach our state. So we will continue to mention the chance of scattered storms and showers for Friday, with a lingering rain chance across southern areas on Saturday.
I will have new data to share with you later this evening and we will talk about the timing in our forecast at 9, 9:30 and 10 p.m. I will also pass along updates on our FREE WBRC First Alert Weather App.
