Oxford council considers loan for entertainment center

Oxford City Council to vote on $5M loan for new entertainment center

OXFORD, AL (WBRC) - City officials and business leaders are saying very little about it, but the city council of Oxford will vote next week on whether to take out a $5 million loan to help pay for an entertainment center.

The public hearing notice says the proposed venue will be located somewhere in the Spring Branch Road area, across Highway 21 from Walmart and directly next to I-20.

The site had once been home of Blue Spring Mill. The historic mill was demolished years ago for a planned shopping development that never materialized.

Oxford city officials are saying very little about the venue but the notice says the center would contain indoor go-cart track, an indoor trampoline park, a laser tag venue, an indoor miniature golf course, indoor miniature bowling lanes and an arcade game venue.

The council is expected vote on the loan next Tuesday at 6:30 at its regular meeting. The center would be owned by 360 Media of Piedmont.

We tried to reach Greg Morrow, listed as the owner of 360 Media, but were not able to reach him for comment.
