TUSCALOOSA, AL (WBRC) - After a vote by the Tuscaloosa City Council Tuesday evening, the Sideline Sports Bar and Grill in Tuscaloosa will have to close.
The council voted 4-3 to revoke the bar’s business license.
A public hearing was held before the vote, but in the end, the bar will have to close.
“My clients did all the things they were asked to do,” said Attorney Bryan Winter. “They put everything into it. We’ll have to see where we go from here, but obviously they’re disappointed.”
“I have a lot of relief now. I’m just so glad. I’m so thankful. They did the right thing,” said Brenda Lancaster who lives near Sideline. “The council voted to revoke. They got to shut down. They may appeal. We’ll just have to see.”
No word yet if the owner of Sideline will appeal the decision.
Several prior incidents were supposedly considered by the city council when deciding if the bar should stay in business.
