BIBB COUNTY, AL (WBRC) - Bibb County District Attorney Michael Jackson confirms a county jail official has been charged with second-degree assault.

Bibb County assistant chief jailer Edd Miree faces the charge after allegedly tasing an inmate excessively. Bibb County Sheriff Jody Wade says Miree is no longer employeed at Bibb Co. Jail.

Miree was booked at Hale County Jail but has since posted his $7,500 bond.
