Matt says get ready for more spring-like weather this week
Highs in the 60s and 70s this week!
BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) - Good Monday morning! It is a warm start to the day with many locations waking up in the 50s. We are dealing with some patchy fog this morning. Most of it is confined west of I-65 where a Dense Fog Advisory has been issued until 8AM for the potential to see visibility less than a quarter of a mile. We are already seeing spotty showers in Mississippi that are moving into Alabama this morning. We will deal with a partly to mostly cloudy sky today with a 40% chance for spotty showers. Best chance for rain will be in West Alabama. Highs climbing into the mid to upper 60s this afternoon.

First Alert: Models are indicating the possibility for showers to develop overnight into early tomorrow morning. We can’t rule out the potential for some patchy fog Tuesday morning.

Feeling like Spring in February: Warm temperatures will continue for most of the week. We ended up with a high of 71°F in Birmingham Sunday. We will likely see 70s return Tuesday through Thursday as we wait on another cold front that could cool us down by Friday in the 40s and 50s. Low temperatures will hover around 60° through Thursday morning. High temperatures will likely be 10-15 degrees above average for early February. Our average high is typically in the mid 50s.

Next Big Thing: We will deal with small rain chances Tuesday through Thursday as southerly winds bring moisture up from the Gulf. We aren’t seeing anything organized so we aren’t looking at significant rain totals. A strong cold front is expected to move through Alabama Friday morning that will give us showers. Highs will go from the 70s to the 40s and 50s Friday afternoon.
Weekend Forecast: Next weekend is looking cooler with highs in the 50s with small rain chances possible.
