BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) - San Francisco 49ers quarterback Nick Mullens was the guest speaker at the 2019 WBRC Sideline Banquet Monday night. The former Spain Park High School football star was a WBRC All-Star winner in 2012.
“Whatever you want in life you have to go get it. You have to put your head down and go to work. Nothing is going to be given. You just have to work for what you want and that’s what high school taught me," Nick Mullens said.
Mullens, who played collegiate football at Southern Miss, was named the starter for the 49ers' Week 9 game against the Oakland Raiders this past season. Mullens finished his regular season debut and first career start completing 16 of 22 pass attempts for 262 yards, three touchdowns, and no interceptions, as the 49ers defeated the Raiders 34-3.
“It was a very exciting year getting time to start for the 49ers. Now, I just have to keep working, build off of it and continue to extend my career,” Mullens added.
